On May 31, 2023, The Spina Bifida Association hosted an SB-YOU webinar on grieving. SB-YOU is online programming for, about, and by, adults with Spina Bifida. A community of adults discussing issues of importance for those living with Spina Bifida.
SB-YOU: A Discussion About Grieving Through the Lens of Spina Bifida.
Grief can be described as deep sorrow and complex emotions that overwhelm us when we lose a loved one in death. For many adults with Spina Bifida, grief is also the result of the feelings of sadness caused by personal and community-wide losses linked to living with Spina Bifida.
This webinar discussion surrounds grief as the result of losing a loved one with Spina Bifida and in the context of losses related to living with Spina Bifida. Panelists also explore how one’s race and cultural background might influence how we cope with grief.
