Spina Bifida Collaborative Care Networks (SBCCN)
The Spina Bifida Association, through a cooperative agreement with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has created the SBCCN.
The SBCCN plays a vital role in improving the health of people with Spina Bifida across their lifespan. The SBCCN:
- Identifies the needs of people with Spina Bifida
- Connects health care providers
- Identifies clinics with the best outcomes
- Identifies research priorities
In the first three years, SBCCN has developed Guidelines for the Care of People with Spina Bifida. This effort is the culmination of the work of over 100 volunteer physicians, nurses, and health care providers.
